A trip to the Cathedral City of Wells wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Wells Trading Post. Our 12th century mill is full of fabulous finds from a 1920s ostrich fan to fantastic farmhouse furniture, with plenty of vintage and retro treasures tucked away over 3 floors.
Now in our 19th year of trading, we pride ourselves on good old-fashioned service and cherry pick our stock to ensure that there really is something for everyone. Our thousands of repeat customers are testament to this with people travelling from far and wide to visit our “Alladin’s cave”. Fair pricing ensures quick sales so we are never the same shop twice!
Vintage fashion lovers will enjoy the many rails of designer, retro, festival and just plain quirky clothing, linen and lace. We hold a good choice of antique fur and fake fur coats to suit all shapes and sizes. We are on the vintage trail for hen parties who have great fun trying on the corsets and wedding dresses whilst posing with Malcolm the mannequin.
Whilst we are tucked away, the best places are worth finding and you can easily pass an hour browsing our many rooms Many a chap (and chapess) has bonded waxing lyrical in the tool room(!) and we are “must go to”on every house movers list. We can furnish cottages, terraces as well as pubs, cafes and shops.
Our proudest moment was to supply props for Hot Fuzz..the market place shoot out scene saw many of our vintage tea sets, studio glass and candlesticks shot to smithereens …we soon replaced the stock and there’s a rich variety of collectables left for you to drool over!
Wells Trading Post was voted one of the best vintage shops in the UK by BBC Homes and Antiques magazine, a warm welcome from Tanith, Robin and team await you.”
